New event location and dates!

The Nine Queens presented by O’Neill will happen two weeks later than originally planned from March 26th – 30th and will move to Livigno/ITA!
Due to prevalent föhn winds and unnaturally warm temperatures over the last weeks, the snow machines in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis were unfortunately unable to produce enough snow in the newly established valley venue of the legendary fairytale castle. Moving the event to Livigno has ensured that the event will still take place in the most epic way possible!

This years Nine Queens presented by O’Neill would have seen an exciting change in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The plan was to hold the event right by the base of the gondola in Fiss, to allow more people to witness this spectacular event. Unfortunately this plan had to be revised. The unusually high temperatures in the area made it technically impossible to produce and gather the required 36,000 cubic meters of snow to build the castle in this venue. Snow machines need a temperature of at least -4° Celsius or colder to function, and this temperature hasn’t been reached enough in the valley over the last few days, due to the Föhn weather system. The complex construction of this unique snow obstacle has also made it impossible to move to a higher venue, where enough snow is present, at such short notice.

To ensure that Nine Queens presented by O’Neill will proceed the organisers met with the involved ski areas and decided to hold the event in Livigno, Italy, two weeks later than originally planned. The Nine Knights presented by GoPro, men’s edition of Nine Queens, also goes down in Livigno in April, therefore the decision was made to re-shape parts of the Nine Knights feature especially for the ladies. The feature will still be world class as will the riders and the photographers. The Nine Queens presented by O’Neill is on from the 26th to 30th of March – a completely independent event for the world’s best female freeskiers and snowboarders – and promises to be the absolute highlight of the season for the freestyle snow scene. Stay tuned for details and information!
